- Utility Assistance (LIHEAP): Helps with significant heating and cooling costs.
- Contact: Louisiana Housing Corporation at (225) 763-8700 or visit lhc.la.gov.
- Reduced Internet & Phone: The “Lifeline” program provides discounted high-speed internet.
- Contact: Visit lifelinesupport.org to find participating local providers.
- Education & Tuition Assistance (LRS): If you are interested in returning to school or vocational training, Louisiana Rehabilitation Services can often pay for tuition (including at LSU), fees, and books.

- Federal Student Loan Forgiveness (TPD Discharge): If you have outstanding federal student loans, you may be eligible to have them completely discharged (canceled) due to your disability.
- Contact: Visit disabilitydischarge.com or call (888) 303-7818 to start the “Total and Permanent Disability” (TPD) application.
- Amazon Prime Discount: “Amazon Access” offers Prime for roughly half-price.
- Contact: Sign up at amazon.com/access using your Award Letter.
- National Parks Access Pass: A free, lifetime entry pass to all federal recreation sites.
